“What is Truth”

Recently the release of the astonishing document of “A common word” by Islamic clerics and leaders to the Christians and the response from the Christian ministers and theologians were rather confounding or I should say disturbing.

The American Presidential campaign, again, several influential Christian leaders sent confusing messages during the pre- elections as each were stating their preferences to those who are guided by there endorsements, Here on national media they endorse candidates whose values blatantly oppose the word of God,

The contradiction is this; there was a righteous candidate, reflecting it throughout his political history, and endorsed by James Dobson, however this candidate was denied by major Christian leaders.

I ask myself the question, why? there so many contradictions and compromises in the Christian faith.

Rather than directing our life values and decisions by the Word, discussions are based on personality types and the benefiting of self.

As demonstrated by signatory endorsements of the common word by major recognised Christian leaders , the ideals of political correctness other than the truth of scripture, we cannot buy peace through trade offs, not matter how great the personal achievements of man or his intellectual capacity, they show themselves as fools when they oppose the truth of the word.

This has caused me to visit the warning of not becoming of those who did not receive “THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH” 2Thes 2 10-12

I question myself do I love the truth, do you love the truth, Pilot said to Jesus “what is Truth”, the fact remains JESUS IS THE TRUTH and all that He said is the Truth, this being so, all that does not line up with “the truth is untruth, or let us use the more appropriate word “A LIE”

“And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie”

For what reason, the reason of not receive the love of the Truth

What did Jesus come proclaiming, what life did he exemplify and declare of those who follow Him and His teaching?

Vision of the Plumb Line

Amos7:7 Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. 8 And the LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”

   And I said, “A plumb line.”
Then the Lord said:      “Behold, I am setting a plumb line
      In the midst of My people Israel;
      I will not pass by them anymore”.      This plumb-line would discover where it was crooked. Thus God would bring the people of Israel to the trial, discovering their error their wickedness, and show wherein they erred; and he would likewise bring his judgments upon them according to equity, would set a plumb-line in the midst of them, to mark how far their wall must be pulled down

This is the measure of the Lord, he has determined which is successful and it will reveal which is of stubble

In Lev 8:17 the priest are commanded to take the animal carcass out side the camp it is a deliberate announcement “there is nothing good in the flesh, the hide “, we would say there are many uses, however, the Lord is declaring that there is nothing apart from Him which is good and He takes no pleasure in the flesh of man, or our self efforts.

Jesus declares very clearly this is success, he states “Blessed” in Matthew 5 the Sermon on the Mount, and this is wisdom, he who lives this life according to His measure

This is undoubtedly His plum line; what ever is being preached and stated as kingdom can it stand true to the plumb line of his word, not in a truth or mans interpretation, will it stand in the day of reckoning , are we wise builders or are we allowing ourselves to enjoy the passing pleasures of this life.

I see and hear many who declare, you can have a better life than what Christ declares His disciples life would look like, false messiahs are already in the earth, filling church’s, the message they preach appeals to the self life, the message of Christ is a selfless life, the call is to die to self, not promote it, and bolster it up.

“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” 1Jn 2:6

False messiahs are proclaiming another gospel, other than the cross Christ die on!

Return you prisoners of hope, even today, that I will restore double to you Zec 9:12

Scripture declares there is only ONE God.

The nature of ONE as compared to the other, unquestionable the differences, and this being so there cannot be coexistence or a comparison.

Lifestyle; we cannot expose false values if we ourselves are subscribing to them

We cannot in our own lifestyle indulge in the very thing that we are condemning before others.

Lifestyle is, therefore, remarkably important with regard to the word that is to be proclaimed,

and probably nothing more betrays whether you are a true or false than this.

Our own lifestyle must therefore be a repudiation of that lie.

A genunine REVOLUTION of VALUES

These are revolutionary times. All over the globe men are revolting against old systems of exploitation and oppression, and out of the wounds of a frail world, new systems of justice and equality are being born. The shirtless and barefoot people of the land are rising up as never before. The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. We in the West must support these revolutions.

It is a sad fact that because of comfort, complacency, a morbid fear of Islam, economic disaster, our proneness to adjust to injustice, Western Christianity which initiated so much of the revolutionary spirit of the modern world have now become the arch anti-revolutionaries. This has driven many to feel that only Islam has a revolutionary spirit. Therefore, Islam is a judgment against our failure to make Christianity real and follow through the wittness that we initiated, living as Disciples of Christ, the reality to live in Christ is the call. Our only hope today lies in our ability to recapture the revolutionary spirit and go out into a sometimes hostile world declaring His Kingdom come and eternal hostility to poverty, racism, and militarism. With this powerful commitment we shall boldly challenge the status quo and unjust mores, and thereby speed the day when “every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain.”

A genuine revolution of values means in the final analysis that our loyalties must become ecumenical rather than sectional. Every Christian must now develop an overriding loyalty to Christ in order to demonstrate the best in their individual societies.

This call for whole heartiness that lifts from the self preservation reflected through individual pursuits of the church, concern beyond one’s family, church, denomination, tribe, race, class, and nation is in reality a call for an all-embracing and unconditional love for all mankind. This is often misunderstood, this often misinterpreted concept, so readily dismissed by our programs and ministry of the church as a weak and cowardly force, has now become an absolute necessity for the survival of Christianity.

When I speak of love I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response. I am not speaking of that force which is just emotional bosh. I am speaking of that force which all of the have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life. Love’s reality is beautifully summed up in the first epistle of John: “Let us love one another, for love is God. And every one that loves is born of God and knows God. He that loves not knows not God, for God is love.” “If we love one another, God dwells in us and his love is perfected in us.” Let us hope that this spirit will become the order of the day.

We can no longer afford to worship the god of self or bow before the altar of prosperity. The oceans of history are made turbulent by the ever-rising tides of selfishness. And history is cluttered with the wreckage of nations and individuals that pursued this self-defeating path of hate. As Arnold Toynbee says: “Love is the ultimate force that makes for the saving choice of life and good against the damning choice of death and evil. Therefore, the first hope in our inventory must be the hope that love is going to have the last word” (unquote).

“There is no fear in Love; because perfect Love casts out fear”….Jn 4:18

HOLINESS NOT AN OPTION

Many words are being spoken by many individuals concerning times and seasons in 2008, here are a few from a recent meeting of key leaders;

Eight Prophetic Directives for 2008
We are desperate for a word from God in a year of new beginnings. I received these encouraging insights while listening to a group of Christian leaders gathered in Orlando. 2007 was a difficult year, but I’m feeling more positive about 2008 after spending two days with 61 key leaders of our movement. They convened in Charisma’s offices this week for the Charismatic Leadership Summit, an informal and refreshingly honest dialogue designed to help the church respond proactively to current challenges.We didn’t solve the world’s problems by having this discussion. But a smaller miracle occurred when we knelt together on the first night and repented of the pride that has tainted the American church. The holy hush of that moment encouraged me more than any comment made from the podium.Here’s my feeble attempt to summarize what these leaders said, and what God was saying through them, during three sessions that focused on these questions:

(1) Where is the charismatic movement headed?(2) Is the charismatic movement healthy? and (3) Is the charismatic movement making a difference?

“As we enter this significant year of challenge and opportunity, a big ‘IF’ hangs over us. Our faithfulness to God will be determined … by whether we made the Great Commission our priority. “

1. We must have personal revival. Marcus Lamb, founder of the Daystar Television Network, fought back tears as he lamented how far leaders have fallen in this day of Christian superstar scandals. “When was the last time we fasted?” he asked. “When was the last time we studied the Word just to hear from God?” Lamb believes “an alarm was sounded in 2007″ that is calling each of us back to the simplicity of devotion to Jesus.

2. We must embrace humility. This was the overarching theme of the Orlando event. Robert Morris, pastor of Gateway Church in suburban Dallas, said we must “go overboard in humility” by being genuine, touchable and accessible. Naomi Dowdy, who has pastored in Singapore for more than 30 years, noted that too many leaders today are enamored with their image or their frequent flyer status. “We think we are OK because our numbers are good. But prayer will break that seduction,” she advised.Missionary mobilizer David Shibley, who spends most of his time training pastors in Africa and Asia, said he believes God is raising up a new breed of charismatic leaders today who display “anointing without arrogance, boldness without brashness, and power without pride.” Steve Murrell, a missionary to the Philippines and leader of the Every Nation church-planting movement, said his main concern for the American church is a prideful spirit. His comment prompted the crowd to get on their knees in repentance.

3. We are experiencing gracious judgment. Many leaders alluded to recent theological and moral scandals involving charismatic ministers. Theologian and author R.T. Kendall, based in Nashville, Tenn., explained that there are five kinds of judgment in the Bible, some of which have no positive outcome. Gracious judgment, he said, involves correction but leads people to repentance and obedience. Joni Lamb of Daystar called 2007 “a year of sifting and shaking” and then held up a plumb line like the one described in the book of Amos. She said the Lord is measuring the church in this hour, and then asked: “Are we lining up to the Lord’s plumb line? Are we men and women of character in a world of compromise?”

4. We must balance the prosperity message. Although not everyone in the room was in agreement about the recent U.S. Senate investigation of six charismatic ministers, many called for restraint and a new attitude toward money. Several leaders, including Hispanic apostle Héctor Torres, emphasized that God is calling us to a higher standard of ethics, integrity and corporate governance. A prophetic warning was also issued: Leaders should either adopt a policy of “full disclosure” in the financial area, or they can expect “full exposure” of financial misdeeds.Robert Morris used the term “hyper-prosperity” to describe a theology that emphasizes wealth and personal blessing. He urged leaders to teach people “to give extravagantly, not expecting anything in return” instead of suggesting that people should “give to get.” Revivalist Rodney Howard-Browne bluntly suggested that the prosperity movement has “gone off the tracks.” Biblical prosperity, he explained, is not given so that people can focus on buying houses or cars but so they can fund the work of world evangelism.

5. It’s time to get back to evangelism. The phrase “get back to the basics” was repeated numerous times over the course of our 24-hour session. Michigan pastor Barbara Yoder told how she totally restructured her church in Ann Arbor last year because her congregation was not evangelizing or nurturing new believers. “We’ve got to make it simple,” she said. Dallas-based evangelist Steve Hill agreed, announcing that our priorities must return to soul-winning and discipleship.Other leaders, while stressing the absolute importance of the presence and power of God in our churches, cautioned against an inordinate emphasis on manifestations of the Holy Spirit. “We must get back to the core doctrines of the Bible, and test all things,” said prophetic minister Cindy Jacobs of Dallas, noting that our focus must not be on manifestations but on souls.Rice Broocks, pastor of Bethel World Outreach Center in Nashville Tenn., said he believes our mandate for 2008 is simple: “Don’t get cute. Don’t get fancy. Go and make disciples.” He urged leaders to stop majoring in minors when evangelism has been neglected. David Shibley reinforced that message, noting that since the death of Bill Bright in 2003, no one is really championing the necessity of evangelizing the world in our lifetime.

6. We must root out racism in the church. The tensest moment in the discussion came after California-based church leader Samuel Rodriguez, president for the National Association of Hispanic Evangelicals, called on the group to challenge racist attitudes toward Hispanics. He warned that unless we develop a true “kingdom DNA” in our churches-by welcoming and celebrating all ethnic groups-we will not successfully impact our culture or enact biblical justice on issues such as immigration policy. Charismatic prophet Rick Joyner also challenged what he called “spiritual bigotry” that is caused by “our prideful attitude about the groups we are associated with.”

7. Holiness is not an option. The leaders had a lively discussion on the need for proper accountability so that leaders who have moral failures can be properly restored. Mike Bickle, founder of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Kan. decried the “greasy grace” that quickly forgives a fallen brother but does not offer tough love and discipline. “That is no grace at all,” he said. Everyone agreed that leaders not only must learn to restore but also must focus on how to prevent moral failure-which will require a new emphasis on holy living.

8. God is calling us to transform society. Several leaders, including Harry Jackson of Washington, D.C., noted that American culture-and our government-is becoming increasingly hostile to the Christian faith. He and others challenged the group to become active politically, in the current presidential contest and on every level. If we run from our calling to transform culture, we may end up in a fish’s mouth like Jonah. We must engage in a kingdom mission rather than hide behind an escapist Left Behind eschatology. Barbara Wentroble, an apostolic leader from Dallas, noted that Christians for too long have viewed politics, education and the financial realm as evil when we must see those arenas as mountains to claim for Christ.My quick summary: As we enter this significant year of challenge and opportunity, a big ‘IF‘ hangs over us. Our faithfulness to God will be determined not by our prophetic conferences, the size of our churches, the trendiness of our music or whether we have gold dust appearing in our meetings. PRAYER: THE SEAT OF GOVERMENT

The House of Prayer is the governmental center of the universe.

Whether you want to believe it or no t prayer is the governing force in the whole universe. Prayer is mightier and stronger then every government, every leader and every society. Nothing can stand in the way of the praying Church. Islam, Communism, the Occult, Slavery all fall at the feet of a church that is partnership with God, in the place of prayer, contending for a breakthrough.The Lord has said that He will take what the world thinks as foolish to shame that which the world thinks is wise. Jesus Christ has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the tings which are mighty. The majority of you may think prayer is weak and foolish, only to be used once and a while. But I tell you this; PRAYER is the one thing that will bring an end to every social injustice in the world. The thing that everyone turns to last is the greatest weapon the poor and the oppressed of the earth have.The Lord is more aware of the suffering of men and women throughout the earth then we are. He hears every cry, every scream and every prayer. He also is the God, the one true God, who answers prayer.

Psalm 65 says, “O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come.” God hears prayer, and on a side note, ALL FLESH will come to Him. That means everyone every born, no matter if you believe in Him or not. You will come to Him one day. EVERYONE will realize the power and effectiveness of prayer before this thing is over. You can argue with me all you want but my response will be this – wait and see the Salvation of God. Just wait.Here is the answer to Human Trafficking and Social Injustice – the praying Church calling up the Lord of Hosts to break in with deliverance. The battle is too big and the mountain too high for us to fight on our own. But with God all things are possible and ANY THING I ask in His name will come to pass. So with the view of a great God who answers prayer, who longs to see justice, true justice established on the earth Human trafficking is nothing to Him.Luke 18:7 “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, through He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes will He really find faith on the earth?”

When He comes, true Justice comes will He find you in the place of faith believing for the breakthrough? I pray that I will be found, in faith, in the place of prayer. Brett Steeno

Ps 2 describes the Nations and kings of the earth mocking God in vain, for the reality and the dignity given to weak people as us is indeed to magnify His Name, Abraham, believe Him who is true, and we offer up prayers to Him who hears and answers the prayer of the righteous California’s homosexual agenda is no match, nor any other treat if will believe, as was spoken to Daniel by Gabriel the angel, from the first day of your prayers he was released to Daniel however, Gabriel was opposed by the angel the prince of Persia. Daniel’s 21 day intercessions empowered Gabriel to prevail against his foe.

What would have resulted if Daniel had ceased praying in 2 days? Would the prince of Persia prevailed?

Occupy again this place, regarding the promise of God, do not waiver, but give glory to God for this is the place of Government in the earth not man but those who pray determine the war in the heavenly places. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. “A DREAM COME TRUE”

In 1995 in his Book “A Dream come True” James Ryle writes;

I dreamed I was looking at North America from a perspective high in the sky , far enough removed that I could virtually see the entire continent. Just as you would see the weather map, a high pressure system was moving towards the United States from the north Pacific. My eye was riveted upon the massive front as it slowly approached the nation, because the clouds were gold and glorious. I knew I was seeing a manifestation of the glory of God, and I was awestruck that it was about to move upon America. Just as the cloud touched the northwest edge of the nation, a word appeared written across the face of the country; “Abortion.”The letters were made of ashes, as if they had been poured out of an urn onto the ground. I watched with dreadful anxiety as the cloud of Gods approaching glory shuddered and stopped from advancing any further knew that the glory would come no further.I cried out in great anguish of heart, “No! Don’t turn away! Have mercy, O God. It is true we are a nation of Abortionists! We have aborted not only our children, but also our faith, our love, our honor, our courage, our vision and our heritage. O Lord, please stop us — do not let us now also abort the offer of Your glory! Come and cleanse our land, forgive us and heal our nation!The dream continued. I watched from the heavenlies as the hand of a man came up from the ground in the heart of the nation, and reached across the country to lay hold of the glory cloud. Seizing it firmly, the hand then pulled the cloud into the center of America. At that instant, a golden hue permeated the country and a great awakening swept the entire continent. The dream ended and I woke up.He goes on to say, “could it be that Promise Keepers is the” hand of the man”

My 12 year prespective

I have just moved to Kansas City from Australia in the last few months and this year Lou Engle has just relocated his ministry “The Call” here in conjunction with the International House of Prayer KC, who continually bear this burden of abortion before the Lord, combined with Lou’s mandate to rally solemn assemblies across the nation in a stance of repentance and awareness against abortion, in the dream, the words “Abortion” made of ash, ash is a depiction in the book of Joel of humility, the position of fasting and prayer .This is the very thing Lou Engle is doing, with “The Call” The hand came up from the ground in the heart of the nation, could this be Kansas City?And reached across the nation and pulled the cloud, in December 31,2007, “The Call” is launching solemn assemblies from Bartle Hall, Kansas City, across the country leading up to Washington October 2008 Is this the “hand of a man” reaching across the country to lay hold of the glory cloud, could this nation be on the edge of the outpouring it says “At that instant”, a golden hue permeated the country and a great awakening swept the entire continent.

A Kairos time in history? We are invited into taking our stand and form “the hand of a man” in fasting and prayer [ash] Join with us this December 31, and support the rallies to usher the Glory of God into the nation of America.

On Labor Day weekend in September 2000, over 400,000 people gathered to the National Mall in Washington, DC. They came not to the sound of a music festival or to hear the biggest names in Christendom, but they came to the sound of Joel 2: “Blow the trumpet in Zion! Consecrate a fast! Call a sacred assembly.” This gathering was known as TheCall DC.
After TheCall DC between 2000 and 2003, TheCall mobilized hundreds of thousands of believers from all across the nations to gather in culture-influencing cities across America for TheCall Boston, TheCall New York City, TheCall San Francisco, and others to seek God in prayer and fasting.Now, after four years of dormancy, TheCall is on the march again back to the National Mall in Washington, DC already having gathered thousands to LP Field in Nashville on 07.07.07. In the next year, TheCall will gather people to different cities around the nation and then converge again in Washington, DC for TheCall DC II in fall 2008 believing that 1 million people, young and old alike, will gather to fast, pray and ask God for a historic visitation of epic proportions.

Human Trafficking and Slavery Statistic’s

Now here is an issue that Al Gore and others should be more concerned about then global warming. I am going to list a whole bunch of statistics here but I think they are worth staring at for a while. This is seriously provoking me to the place of intercession for those who truly have no voice in the world today. I would suggest you take a few minuets out of your busy day to read these statistics.This list does not even begin to scratch the surface. I think after reading a bit about it you will see that human trafficking is a bit more important then the global warming.This subject hits pretty close to home for me. As many of you know I spent a year in Africa before coming to IHOP. In Africa one of my many responsibilities was to help lead our weekly ministry to the prostitutes. Twice a week we would take a truck down to the inner city and bring loads of bread and would hold a church service. I became good friends with those girls over that year. It was weird walking down the streets of Maputo and having a group of prostitutes yell your name out as you walked around the corner. Talk about dirty looks from the on lookers! I think they enjoyed talking to us because for once in their lives someone actually cared about them and did not look at them as objects.Some things still haunt me though to this day from those church services. I remember on a weekly basis sitting in those church services worshiping Jesus with the broken and hurting of the world. When suddenly a white pick up truck or a BMW would pull up around the corner. In the car would be a couple of men and suddenly we would loose two or three of the girls in our church service. What really got to me was seeing the young girls, 12 or 13, leave the church service to go of and do their “job.” On a weekly basis I would wittiness child prostitution first hand. I remember feeling helpless as I sat in the dirt with tears running down my face. Girls who were so innocent at times were having their purity and innocence taking from them on a daily basis. This is the only life they knew. To them it was natural; to them it was what their mothers had done for years before them. This was life for them on a daily basis.I still to this day remember their faces and pray for them on a daily basis. I pray for the countless of street children whom I became friends with as well over the time I was there. I pray that in the midst of great darkness and hopelessness they would encounter the love of Jesus Christ. I pray that they, the weakest and the most broken of the earth would arise from the ashes and become some of the mightiest men and women to ever walk the face of the earth. I pray that they would walk in such godliness and such humility that the earth would not be worthy of them.Ill write more later on this. It’s too hard to write more right now. Back to the facts. Read them, dwell on them, and let them stir you to intercession, the only answer for these lost children of the world.Here are the facts, true facts that can not be disputed

:1) The International Labour Organization estimates there are 218 million working children aged between five and 17 (2006)

2) 126 million are estimated to work in the worst forms of child labor — one in every 12 of the world’s five to 17 years olds (2006)

3) 74 million children under 15 are in hazardous work and should be “immediately withdrawn from this work” (2006)

4) 8.4 million children are in slavery, trafficking, debt bondage and other forms of forced labor, forced recruitment for armed conflict, prostitution, pornography and other illicit activities.

5) There are around 3000 enslaved Albanian children used for begging and cleaning windows and cars without payment in Italy and Greece.

6) An estimated 496,000 children are in slavery in Bangladesh.

7) Over 10-20 million people are subjected to debt bondage largely in India, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru and Philippines. Of 35 million soccer balls stitched in Pakistan, children produce one quarter of the balls, most of them as bonded servants.

9) Nearly 500,000 minors work in virtual slavery conditions in Senegal.

10) “Restavek” the practice of sending children to serve as unpaid domestic labour for more affluent city dwellers exist in the country of Haiti. UNICEF estimated that 25,000 to 300,000 children, 85% of them girls, are victims of this practice.

11) Information gathered by the British charity, Christian Aid, and reported by Reuters, indicates that up to 10,000 children between ages 6 and 14 are enslaved in brothels in Sri Lanka.

12) There are no universally accepted figures for the number of bonded child laborers in India. However, in the carpet industry alone, human rights organizations estimate that there may be as many as 300,000 children working, many of them under conditions that amount to bonded labour.

13) Some NGOs estimate that the number of bonded laborers in India is 5 million persons. However, in a report released during the year, Human Rights Watch estimated that 40 million persons, including 15 million children, are bonded laborers. The report notes that the majority of bonded laborers are Dalits, and that bondage is passed from one generation to the next.

14) 90% of the 100,000 women in prostitution in Bombay, India, are indentured slaves.

15) Persons sometimes are sold into virtual slavery. Many boys from India, some of whom are as young as 4 years, end up as riders in camel races in West Asia and the Gulf States, especially to the United Arab Emirates, or begging during the Haj. Girls and women end up either as domestic workers or sex workers.

16) It takes up to 15 years for girls held in prostitution via debt-bondage in India to purchase their freedom.

17) The number of street children worldwide is almost impossible to know, although the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF in the mid ’90s estimated the number to be 100million.

18) The social phenomenon of street children is increasing as the world’s population grows; six out of ten urban dwellers are expected to be under 18 years of age by the year 2005

19) According to UNICEF, there are about 25 million street children in Asia and an estimated 10million in Africa (1998).

20) Africa today has 10.7 million orphans just as a result of AIDS and the numbers are growing (UNAIDS). With fewer and fewer family members left to care for them, many–if not most–of these children will join the street children of Africa who are already there because of poverty, wars and ethnic conflicts

21) In the Philippines, the Department of Social Welfare and Development estimated, in 1991,1.2 million street children. Action International Ministries says 50,000 to 70,000 street children live in Manila alone.

22) India’s Ministry of Social Welfare estimated that of the 10.9 million people residing in Calcutta in 1992, there were 75,000 to 200,000 children living in the streets. Agencies agree the number is much higher now, and deaths of parents from HIV/AIDS are likely to cause the numbers to rise more rapidly.
